Tools Needed to Set Up an Artificial Lawn
If you’re planning on setting up artificial lawn by yourself, be sure to use the right tools, as this can determine whether or not the synthetic grass will last for long. This article lists down some of the equipment you will need to set up synthetic grass.
Some of the tools you will be using when installing an artificial lawn are:
Seam fix – The seam fix essentially works as a kind of glue that will keep the artificial lawn sticking to the ground. It also sticks two pieces of synthetic grass together.
Infilling applicator – The applicator is used to apply the fillers (which can be sand, ground granite, andor some type of rubber material) on to the artificial lawn in order to make it resemble natural grass.
Push broom – The push broom is used to make sure that the filler settles evenly on the artificial lawn. A power broom may be needed in case of larger applications.
Utility knife – There may be instances wherein you will need to cut through the synthetic grass pieces. A utility knife can be a good choice, especially if you want to make straight cuts.
Stakes – Stakes are used at the corners and sides of each piece of artificial lawn in order to make it more secure to the ground. Alternatively, nails can be used to secure the grass. A staple gun with staples can also be used, but these may not provide as much security as stakes or nails.
Rubber mallet – The rubber mallet is used to drive the stakes to the ground. If you’re using nails, a hammer can be used as an alternative to the mallet.
If you’re planning on installing synthetic grass for a living, it’s a good idea to invest in artificial lawn tools, since these are essential in this line of work. However, if you’re planning on setting up synthetic grass only once (such as for your property), it might not be a good idea to purchase these tools, especially if you’re on a budget. You can either try to find someone who you can borrow these tools from, or you can hire someone to do the installation for you to cut back on costs.
